Planting Seeds of Hope for 40 Years
The Youth Ambassador Program is for youth ages 15-21 who want to serve their community and raise awareness around sexual assault and abusive relationships in Denton County. This program is designed to be interactive and engaging, allowing youth to explore the world of sexual assault prevention through a lens that is specific to them and their interests.
The goal of the Youth Ambassador Program is to bring together youth from across Denton County and educate them about the pervasiveness of teen dating violence and sexual assault. Once they complete the program, they will then be able to design their own awareness events and talk to their peers about the importance of healthy and safe relationships.
This program is in its infancy and we are looking for youth ages 15-21, parents of youth ages 15-21, or educators of youth ages 15-21 to participate in focus groups so we can determine how to best create a program that is designed to meet the needs of our young people. If you are interested in getting involved, email Sarah Morley at smorley@dcfof.org to learn how you can get involved and make this program the first of its kind in Denton County!
