Individual Volunteer Process

Volunteers play a vital part in the delivery of services from rocking babies or assisting with administrative work to helping at DCFOF Thrift; volunteers are one of the largest assets Friends of the Family has. Our volunteers make it possible for us to give our clients excellent service.

Step 1 - Complete The Volunteer Application

Step 2- Complete Background Checks

Once you complete your application for step 1 you will receive an email with the info for step 2. There is one background check the Criminal Background Check form. Please note, this e-mail does occasionally go to the Junk/Spam folder.

Step 3 - Attend Volunteer Orientation and Begin Volunteering!

**Orientations are still taking place - if you have signed up to attend a volunteer orientation, the location has moved to zoom and we will be sending out the link a few days before orientation!** 

Group Volunteer Process

We encourage both groups and individuals to look into volunteering for Friends of the Family. Whether it is a one-time group project or a reoccurring group volunteer activity, we would love to have you all helping out.

Step 1 - Complete The Volunteer Application- the main contact must complete the application on behalf of the group. Then, each individual group member needs to complete their own application.

Step 2- Complete Background Checks

 All group members above the age of 18, must complete the Background Check Form.

Step 3- Send a list of all volunteers participating to volunteer@dcfof.org 

Once we have verified that we have received all the proper documentation for your group members, we will contact you to arrange all the details including final date and time. Thank you for being a part of our volunteer team! 

Volunteer Project

Have a project for a class or organization that you would like to benefit Denton County Friends of the Family? We would love to have you and/or your group volunteer at Friends of the Family. We always have needs at the shelter, outreach and throughout our agency. Tell us how we can get you plugged in. Project Idea
