Meet the Volunteer Committee

"Denton County Friends of the Family Volunteer Committee is dedicated to serving DCFOF Volunteers while maintaining the active mission of the organization. This is accomplished by collaborating, putting our volunteers first, and providing a voice for our active and future volunteers."

Our volunteers are the life force of our agency and the Volunteer Committee plays an integral role in boosting their engagement. The Volunteer Committee meets once a month to discuss upcoming events, help promote drives, and plan social functions with the goal of fostering continued volunteer activity.

Heather Cook is the current Volunteer Committee Chair. She became a volunteer with Friends of the Family five years ago looking for a way to fill her required volunteer hours for school when someone she worked with suggested our Agency. She read the history of Denton County Friends of the Family which really resonated with her and what she wanted to do so she decided to get involved. Since becoming a volunteer, she has been an active SAT (Survivor Advocacy Team) Volunteer for four years and has been on the Volunteer Committee since 2018. Heather is an avid animal lover, runs her own business, and loves the color purple!

Reighley Baugh is an MSW Student at Texas Woman's University. She has been serving with DCFOF since 2016 and has been honored to serve with the Volunteer Committee since 2018. As a member of the committee, she desires to provide support and resources for those who serve our amazing organization.
