Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

At Denton County Friends of the Family (DCFOF) we provide compassionate, comprehensive services to those impacted by rape, sexual abuse, and domestic violence, while partnering with our community to promote safety, hope, healing, justice, and prevention. A core function of the work we do is to serve all in our community impacted by sexual violence. April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The purpose of SAAM is to raise awareness within our community about sexual assault and educate the public on how to be a part of the solution. We invite you to join us as we stand for victims throughout the month of April. #ItsOnUsDentonCounty #SAAM

Take the #StartByBelieving Pledge

When someone tells you they were raped or sexually assaulted, knowing how to respond is critical. A negative response can worsen the trauma and foster an environment where perpetrators face no consequences for their crimes. Start by Believing stops this cycle by improving our personal and professional reactions.

It all starts with you. Make your personal commitment to Start by Believing.
