Director of Outreach Advocacy
Director of Outreach Advocacy– Michelle Behl received her Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice Administration and Human Services at University of Phoenix. Ms. Behl attended all private schools while living abroad in Mexico. At the age of 19, she was accepted in to Law School at the Universidad Autonoma De Durango, unfortunately her scholarship ended a year prior to graduation. At the age of 20 she moved to San Antonio TX to pursue an Associates de degree in Criminal Justice at San Antonio College; she successfully graduated in 2009 with Spring Terms Deans’ Honor Role. Ms. Behl immediately gained experience in the non- profit field working with youth at risk at Roy Mass Services for a one year grant term. Ms. Behl continued working with youth at risk; and was offered a position with Cornell Corrections and GEO Group working juveniles in the corrections field. During her second year of work in the corrections field Ms. Behl decided to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Human Services at University Of Phoenix completing studies in January 2014. Ms. Behl decided to move to Dallas TX after graduation, and was offered employment as a Legal Advocate with Dallas County Agency New Beginning Center. While at NBC Ms. Behl reached out to Denton County Friends of the Family where both agencies collaborated in assisting a hi-risk case. Soon After, Ms. Behl was offered a position at DCFOF as a Bilingual Outreach Advocate. Immediately after becoming a part of the DCFOF Advocacy team Ms. Behl became involved in collaborating with the OAG’s child support division and is part of a pilot program focused on providing services to victims in the Denton IV-D Court.
Ms. Behl has had the experience of working with several populations including extensive work with youth at risk, juvenile corrections, sexual assault victims, human trafficking survivors, domestic violence, shelter legal advocacy, life skills, and currently has been promoted to Director of Outreach Advocacy with DCFOF.
