Board Member LaKebra Mahomes, BSW, MPA

LaKebra is a Dallas native who currently works at a nonprofit in Dallas that serves the homeless population.  She received her Bachelor in Social Work at the University of North Texas in Denton where she was first introduced to DCFOF as a Child Advocate Intern. She later worked at DCFOF as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. This allowed her the opportunity to work first hand with women and children of DV in the shelter setting. She then received her Master of Public Administration at UNT Denton. She is working to someday become an Executive Director of a nonprofit. She is passionate about helping victims of DV and serving the homeless population. She is new to serving as a board member.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, going to church, and shopping. She loves volunteering to help serve vulnerable populations and hopes to make a difference in the lives of many.
