Q: Is this donation tax deductible?
A: Denton County Friends of the Family is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
Q: How do I participate virtually once my ticket has been purchased?
A: A Zoom link will be sent to you via email to view the event. In addition to a link to view and participate in the online silent auction.
Q: How will I know if I have been outbid on an item for the silent auction?
A: You will receive a text notification if you have been outbid on an item, which will also allow you to increase your bid.
Q: How will I receive items I won in the silent auction?
A: The week after the event you will be contacted by a member of our team to coordinate pick up of items. If you need your items shipped, there will be an extra shipping cost added on. Please note, our offices will be closed Monday, October 12th for the Holiday.
Q: How long will auction items be online to bid on?
A: Auction items will go live on Monday, October 5th at 8:00 a.m. and the online auction will end on Friday, October 9th at 11:59 p.m.
Q: I want to purchase the Virtual Gala and Meal ticket, how does this work?
A: Once purchased, you will receive a receipt email that will contain the Zoom link for the virtual event and a separate e-mail with the link to a form for you to choose your meal preference(s). Meal Tickets are no-longer available.
Q: What are the meal options?
A: The meal options are from Catering by Chef Mark, there are three, three-course meals with dessert and the option for wine. You can check out the menu here.
Q: Do I have to pick up my meal?
A: Catering by Chef Mark is delivering your meal to you! Delivery is available to the DFW area and Denton County. Delivery will be October 8th between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Chef Mark and his team will text you when they are on their way to deliver your meal, dessert and wine.
Q: How come my credit card isn't being charged/going through?
A: Our system does not accept Discover or American Express. If that is the type of card you are using, that may be the issue. If you are using another form of payment, either visa or master card, please contact your bank.
Q: How do I check out when the Auction ends?
A: If you're the BIG WINNER you will receive a notification via text when the auction closes at 11:59 PM (CST) Friday, October 9th 2020
You can check out straight from your phone to purchase any auction items you won (you will get a text notification if you won something), and will follow the check out prompts.
You will be contacted via email to coordinate pick up by Paige Wittenhagen beginning October 13th. If you are unable to pick up your item(s) and need the item(s) shipped, shipping charges will be applied.
