Become a Volunteer

The Volunteer Process

In order to become a volunteer at Friends of the Family, certain steps must be completed.

1. Contact the Community Resource Coordinator for any questions you may have or for an application - volunteerhere@dcfof.org. (All volunteers are subject to a criminal background check, as well as a Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry check. These forms are included in the application. Regarding the Child Abuse/Neglect Central Registry check, this form must be filled out in ink and notarized.) THERE IS A ONE-TIME, NON-REFUNDABLE $10 VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PROCESSING FEE. YOUR APPLICATION CANNOT BE PROCESSED WITHOUT THIS FEE. PAYMENT METHODS: CASH OR MONEY ORDER.

2. Once all forms have been completed AND notarized, please contact volunteerhere@dcfof.org to schedule a time to attend Volunteer Orientation.

Orientation

The goal of orientation is to teach potential volunteers about the agency’s mission, structure, and the programs and services offered. Orientation will help the volunteer determine what opportunity best fits their schedule and interest. Once you have turned in your completed volunteer application, the Community Resource Coordinator will contact you about upcoming orientation dates.
